The Open Memory Website Is Online

log_open_360x99

Starting today, October 10th, our new website is live!

Over the past few months, we’ve worked intensively to reach this milestone. We hope that, even though this is a first version still open to improvement, our efforts will prove useful and meaningful to all of you.

Our recent work has developed along several fronts:

  1. Collection and Dissemination of Historical Materials
We’ve published documents and information—both on our social channels and through in-person initiatives—that connect past struggles and movements with those of today. Our goal is to reconstruct a historical path that is not fragmented, but shows strong continuity. The history of Palestine, for example, can only be understood through a reading that spans at least the last century, and in particular (for the part closest to movements) the last fifty years.
  2. Expansion of the Online Archive
We’ve enriched our digital archive (www.openmemory.it/archive) with new materials, thanks to a significant digitization effort. The documentation is steadily growing, also because more and more comrades recognize us as a reference point and a collector of memory that deserves to be brought back to light, systematized, and made relevant.
  3. Development of the New Website
We’ve completed the first version of our new site, designed to showcase our work, make our materials (videos, audio, documents) accessible, and host a blog. This space will allow us to share information, make internal discussions public, and encourage interaction through comments and suggestions.

We hope we’ve at least partially achieved our goals. You’ll be the ones to tell us, with your feedback and proposals.

Enjoy browsing!
